My Tribute to Mary Beth King Simpson

My Tribute to Mary Beth King Simpson

There is so much to say and so little space to say it. I think the entries below say it best. Of course we loved her, it's our job, we are her family. But she was verry special to God I think. Her walk with Him was so quiet, so gentle, so unassuming that you wouldn't know she was there unless you heard her breathing. She didn't want much. Just to raise her children in love and free from want for the basics of life. After that her wants were so simple. She enjoyed her work immensely, so when she had to give that up I think it was hard on her. I'm so grateful to God for giving her six months of peace and serenity and the thought that she had licked the leukemia that would ventually ravage her body and take her home to Heaven. There has to be a partial tribute to Wayne, her husband and her two sons, Lijiah and Sam. They have been very loving, compassionate and caring towards her in her many months of suffering and chemotherapy. But these three men have come this with flying colors and made her memory proud. I'm certain her gentle impact on their lives will continue for their entire lives. They are products of her excellent care and upbringing. Quite the Lady and a Wonderful Sister. We will see you again soon Mary Beth and we love you dearly. Brother Bill, Mother Verna, Sisters Linda, Pat, Amy, husband Wayne, sons Lijiah and Sammy and all of her extended family and friends. God Bless Your Memory Honey... Now and Forevermore... Amen... Thank You LORD for the time we had to share this dear sister, daughter, mother, wife, aunt. She was quite the woman, quite the lady, quite the Christian... Thank You...

Mary Beth King in Elementary School - Third Ward

This was the "Perfect Child", okay, as close as kids get to perfect on this poor planet. She seldom misbehaved. She was content with small things around here, playing with animals, riding a swing, Mary Beth would play the Mommy and Amy Sue was her baby [sometimes unwillingly]. As she got a little older her Big Brother Bill was having children, so Mary would content herself to "raise" her newfound family in niece Donna Lee, named after Mary Beth's younger sister who died of the same illness as Mary four years before Mary was born [1956 and 1960 respectively]. The other members of her play family were Bill and Chris. It turned out to be the perfect training pattern for her to raise Lijiah and Sam. Sort of like Little House on the Prarie or The Walton's and Walton's Mountain... She was quite a Mom and Lady, a very dear Christian soul who is in Heaven now talking to Jesus for certain. Poor Jesus, He may not get a word in edgewise... hahaha... Take Good Care of Her LORD Until We Get There to Give You Some Relief... hahaha...

Mary Beth King and Amy PhotoCube...

Mary Beth King Senior Photo 1978

Mary Beth King Senior Photo 1978. She was so photogenic, protypically Irish looks, red hair, freckles and vibrant blue eyes that danced. Her photo was on display by Pittsburgh National Bank on Market Street in Blairsville PA 15717 for months. She was always a bit embarrassed by her size and never wanted her photograph to be taken but she was immensely popular because of her always upbeat nature. And that was true right to the end. She had an immense love of God and all things He created. She was one of the gentlest spirits I have ever known and I know God is having a good time right now holding her on His lap as she tells Him about her travels and trials and tribulations. Oh, and about her boys. She didn't brag about much, but she was very much in love with Wayne and so proud of Lijiah and Sam who loved her dearly too.
